Who may use the ADB Library? |
|
Staff, consultants, secondees, interns, dependents of staff and retirees of ADB may use the ADB Library.

2. When is the Library open?  |
|
The Library is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

3. What services does the Library offer? |
|
The Library offers reference and research assistance, current awareness profiles, electronic subscriptions, document delivery, Internet and electronic databases tutorials, interlibrary loan, reserves/loans/renewals, tours and briefings, an online catalog, and a topical resource list.

4. What are the electronic resources available in the Library? |
|
The Library offers a wide array of electronic resources including commercial databases, Internet-based publications, and newswire services such as: DIALOG, Economist Intelligence Unit, Factiva, EBSCO, JSTOR, Oxford Analytica, PACNEWS, IGM CorporateWatch Weekly, Asia Plus Information Blitz, Bankscope, Econlit, World Development Indicators, Global Development Finance, UN COMTRADE, and International Financial Statistics.

5. How can external users have access to the ADB Library? |

Faculty members and university students, as well as practicing professionals can have access to the ADB Library upon written request to the Head, Information Resources and Services or authorized library staff. External researchers must give advance notice of their proposed visit to the library.

6. Can other libraries borrow books from the ADB Library? |
|
Yes, through interlibrary loan.

7. How do ADB staff recommend materials for acquisition? |
|
Staff should fill-out the Request for Acquisition Library Form (ADB Form 292/06) and have the recommendation signed by the head of the department.

8. During a mission, if I purchase a publication, and turn it over to the ADB Library, will I get reimbursed for its cost? |
|
Yes, the ADB Library will reimburse the cost of purchase if the material is not yet available in the Library and if it is endorsed by the head of your department. |

Yes, the Library collection can be accessed through the ADB Online Catalog.

10. Can my dependents do research in the Library and use the Internet and multimedia collection? |
|
Yes, dependents can do research in the Library and use the Internet and multimedia collection. Due to limited resources, however, priority is given to ADB staff in the use of any service, including the Internet.

11. If the Library does not carry the book or article I
need, can it be obtained from other sources? |
|
Yes, the Library maintains a network of interlibrary loan services, and subscribes to document delivery services in the United States and United Kingdom.

Journals / Magazines / AV Materials - 5 days
Reference / CFA Materials - 2 days
MBA Collection – Overnight (checkout at 4:00pm; return by 9:00am) |

Journal articles requested can be supplied within 24 hours or a maximum
of 7 days, depending on availability from prospective sources.
